Laser Machine Operator
Basic function and scope of responsibilities: Reporting to the lead hand(s), this person must take direction; know how to successfully operate a laser cutting machine using CNC controls. This person must be able to work on their own and trouble shoot when necessary. Further, this person must be a team player and assist other workers as/when required.
Position requirements: The successful candidate must have a minimum of 1 year experience in a production manufacturing fabrication shop operating a laser cutting machine. The successful candidate must have the ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints; stand for long periods, complete repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads. This person must be able to work under pressure, and have good hand-eye coordination. Steel-toed safety boots are required.
Basic function and scope of responsibilities: Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from surfaces of metal products. Assist laser operator(s) and/or machinist(s) with: sorting of material and parts; loading and unloading of machines; grinding excess metal from products using hand tools. Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout the plant manually or using powered equipment. Clean machines and immediate work areas. Read and interpret work orders and/or blueprints.
Position requirements: Previous metal manufacturing experience and experience with hand tools required. Able to read work orders and blue prints. Fork lift driving experience would be an asset. Steel-toed work boots /shoes are required.
